Rota Local is a free experimental spreadsheet-to-calendar tool by Evan Hale. It supports selected .xlsx and comma-separated CSV layouts. It does not promise to interpret every spreadsheet.
You choose the date and shift ranges, the meaning of each code, the shift times and the work timezone. Check every event against your employer's original rota before importing. Your employer's rota remains the source of truth. Do not rely on this tool alone for attendance, medical staffing, payroll or work-hours compliance.
Downloading an ICS file does not connect or update your calendar. Import into a new separate calendar. Changes, swaps and cancellations in the original rota will not update previously imported events. Reimporting can create duplicates; this tool cannot undo calendar changes.
Photos, PDF files, OCR, live sync, recurring patterns, 24-hour shifts and ambiguous clock-change start or end times are outside this version's scope. Apple Calendar compatibility has not been verified. The experimental service is provided as available, without an accuracy or uptime guarantee, to the extent permitted by applicable law. These terms do not limit rights that cannot legally be excluded.
